Officer Fires Beanbag Rounds to Free Bear From Car in California

<br /> <p>The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said on August 15 that one of its officers fired beanbag rounds to help free a bear trapped in a car in South Lake Tahoe.</p><p>Footage of the incident shows deputies responding to reports of a bear trapped in the back of a silver car parked in a driveway.</p><p>“He’s done a little bit of damage in there,” an officer can be heard saying to a woman. “We’re going to try to get him out because he’s not happy at all.”</p><p>The officer then fires the rounds, which consist</a> of small fabric pillows filled with lead pellets, into the back window of the car. The bear can be seen scampering out through the window after it shatters.</p><p>The sheriff’s office released the footage with a warning to drivers not to leave food in cars or vehicles unlocked.
