A colourful and exciting sporting occasion which is unique in so many ways. Countries represented range from Poland to Mexico, with Sweden. E Germany and Italy amongst the favourites. You also see individual battles waged right down the 380-strong field as well as the rivalry of different manufacturers. Above all each rider must beat the terrain!
