America’s Got Talent was more reminiscent of a Cinderella story during Tuesday’s episode. 14-year-old rapper Flau’jae, whose audition song was an original one that condemned gun violence, took the stage once more. All of the judges were visibly moved by her perfomance.

Before her song, she opened up to the judges about the traumatic life events that shaped her journey to the AGT stage. “My dad, his name was Camouflage, he was a rapper. He was gonna be signed to Universal Records. But two days before he was gonna sign the contract, he got murdered. My mom was pregnant with me,” she explained.

Rapping and performing was literally in her blood and encoded in her DNA. She said, “My whole goal is to continue my father’s legacy. I feel like he died too early. I feel like he had a dream and he had things he wanted to do, so I’m gonna do them for him.”

After her performance, she dried her tears while receiving praise from the judges. Chris Hardwick, who seemed the most affected, told her, “I have goosebumps and I’m shaking a little bit.”

Before enthusiastically hitting the Golden Buzzer, he said, “You were not given a chance to have a relationship with your father, you were not given a chance then, but I want to make sure you’re given a chance now.” The Golden Buzzer gave her a guaranteed spot in the live shows.

America’s Got Talent airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Watch the clip above to see Flau’jae’s emotional performance!

The post ‘America’s Got Talent’: 14-Year-Old Rapper Flau’jae Cries After Receiving Final Golden Buzzer appeared first on OK!
