<p>A mining town in New South Wales’ far west has been invaded by mobs of emus in search of food and water as the drought ravaging the state continues to intensify</a>.</p><p>In this video, taken by David Bradbury from his car in June, a lone emu can be seen wandering down a suburban street in Broken Hill.</p><p>He told Storyful the drought was driving a lot of wildlife into urban areas.</p><p>In other regions of the state, kangaroo invasions</a> have plagued urban areas and competed with domestic livestock for limited resources, spurring the government to relax laws around kangaroo culling</a>.</p><p>ABC reported</a> the emus that have overtaken Broken Hill had resulted in a huge number of callouts for local wildlife groups, as many birds were injured in car accidents and even dog attacks.</p><p>A mob of emus even gatecrashed</a> a rugby match in early August, running onto the field mid-game.
