Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) will be deferred until Malaysia can afford such a project. <br /><br />Dr Mahathir says he has spoken to Chinese leaders on the matter, elaborating the the project will be restarted if the need for it arises in the future.<br /><br />Putrajaya has ordered for work to be stopped on the ECRL recently after reviewing the details of the project.
