As of now, we are getting a light drizzle. But as the saying goes, there is an unsettling calmness that seems to herald the imminent storm. <br />The port looks calm, but nearby residents said they all refrained from any fishing activity as the area is under a typhoon warning.<br /><br /> The typhoon warning was also issued for Jeju-do Island and Jeollanam-do Province, at 5 p.m. today. Since then, all flights have been canceled at Jeju International Airport, which is about one-hundred and forty flights as of now- both incoming and outgoing.<br /><br />Besides the typhoon warning, a high seas advisory has also been issued for the southern regions adjacent to the West Sea.<br />For Gyeongsangnam-do Province, a strong wind advisory is in place.<br /><br /> All regional governments are on a full 24-hour duty to respond quickly to any emergency and minimize casualties and damage.<br />Jeju-do's governor urged resident not to take part in outdoor activities.<br />The mayor of Daegu cancelled his summer break and returned to office to attend to any emergency<br /><br /> Earlier on the same day, Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon presided over a meeting at the country’s disaster control center and called on the safety ministry, the weather agency and other relevant ministries to be fully prepared ahead of the typhoon's arrival.<br /><br />We will keep you posted as we closely watch the typhoon.
