<p>A smuggling tunnel used to bring illegal drugs into the US was discovered in Yuma, Arizona, after a routine traffic stop on August 13, according to officials with the US Department of Homeland Security</a>.</p><p>During a press conference on August 22, officials said the tunnel was discovered after a significant amount of drugs was found during a traffic stop. The suspect, Ivan Lopez, was the owner of a building that formerly housed a KFC restaurant. The tunnel was discovered in a kitchen in the building, and stretched 600 yards over the border into Mexico.</p><p>Scott Brown, the special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Phoenix, said 168 kilograms of drugs were seized, including 118 kilograms of methamphetamine, 6 kilograms of cocaine, 3 kilograms of fentanyl, 13 kilograms of white heroin, and 6 kilograms of brown heroin.
