<p>Hawaii residents made preparations for strong winds and heavy rain on Thursday, August 23, in advance of Hurricane Lane making landfall.</p><p>This video shows workers at a resort in Lahaina attempting to corral flamingos and swans inside ahead of the storm. The clip, taken by a holidaymaker, was filmed on the west side of Maui.</p><p>The National Weather Service forecasted</a> heavy rain fall and strong winds for the region from August 23 to 24.</p><p>It issued flash flood warnings for areas on the east side</a> of Maui Island, and for areas on the island of Hawaii</a>.
