Florida Protesters March in Solidarity With US Prisoner Strike

<p>Prison reform supporters marched through Florida on August 21, to show solidarity with prisoners protesting against human rights abuses in prisons across the US and Canada.</p><p>The strikes were launched in response to the deaths of seven inmates at Lee Correctional Institution</a> in South Carolina in May.</p><p>The Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee, a US based campaign group, has called for</a> an end to forced or underpaid prison labor; poor prison conditions and life-long sentences, among other demands.</p><p>Some prisoners in Folsom State prison, California, have gone on hunger strike as part of the action, the Guardian reported</a>.</p><p>These videos show protesters marching through Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
