According to Reuters, Hurricane Lane is headed towards Hawaii, and the Big Island is already experiencing torrential rain.<br />The turning weather led schools, government offices and businesses to close, allowing residents stocked up on supplies.<br />Storm surges and large waves are expected to rake Hawaii's Big Island as the category 4 hurricane gets closer.<br />Hurricane Lane is centered about 205 miles southwest of Kailua-Kona.<br />That town is located on the Big Island's west coast. <br />
