More than 100 firefighters were called into action on Saturday night to put out a fire which engulfed a well-known building in the Romanian city of Oradea.<br /><br />It took firefighters three hours to extinguish the blaze at the Greek-Catholic Episcopal Palace on Union Square.<br /><br />Fearing part of the building's tower was about to collapse, firefighters at one point called for help from members of the public to move a car which was parked close the palace in the street below.<br /><br />According to an eyewitness, the tower did indeed fall minutes later on the spot where the vehicle had been parked. <br /><br />Officials said on Sunday that the total area affected by the fire was 1,300 square meters.<br /><br />No-one was injured in the blaze.
