Officials rescued a horse from a flooded river in the Himalayan region of India. <br /><br />The Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team pulled out the horse that got stuck in the flooded Yamuna river in Uttarkashi.<br /><br />The members of the SDRF tied ropes around the horse and pulled it to safety. <br /><br />An SDRF member in Uttarkashi said: “The horse had probably been taken to the river to mine sand illegally. It was abandoned after it got caught in a flash flood triggered by rains.”<br /><br />The Uttarkashi region experiences flash floods, landslides and heavy downpours during the monsoon season.
