Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics dominated the global TV market share with their premium lines during the first half this year.<br /> A report released by business information provider I-H-S Markit on Wednesday... shows Samsung Electronics took up 29-percent of the global market share in H1... followed by LG with 17-and-a-half percent. <br />Total TV shipments surpassed 99-million units in H1, an increase of nearly eight-percent from the same period last year.<br />The report cited this year's mega sporting events such as the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, the World Cup in Russia and the Asian Games in Indonesia... as playing a big role in igniting competition among the major global TV makers. <br />
