<br /> According to CNN, the mayor of San Juan said bureaucracy and inefficiency resulted in the deaths of thousands of people in the wake of Hurricane Maria.<br />Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz also blamed President Donald Trump and federal officials for not providing more assistance to the Puerto Rican government.<br />But San Juan's mayor also placed blame on Puerto Rican officials for not doing more.<br />A study commissioned by the Puerto Rican government stated nearly 3,000 people died due to the hurricane. <br />
