The UN Security Council's sanctions committee says,... the sanctions on North Korea serve a very clear political purpose-- to achieve full and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.<br /> Dutch Ambassador Karel van Oosterom( ) told reporters on Thursday,... that the sanctions are being implemented in a way that does not lead to negative humanitarian consequences.<br />He added.... the committee has worked with many countries on North Korea over recent sessions,.... which led to several accomplishments on humanitarian issues.<br />Earlier in August,... the Security Council made the unprecedented move of approving measures that allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the country. <br />
