61-Year-Old Man <br />Escapes Shark Attack <br />by Punching Its Gills William Lytton was swimming <br />in about "8 to 10 feet" of water <br />off Cape Cod, MA., on Aug. 15. While swimming, Lytton felt an incredible pain shoot through his left leg and quickly realized <br />that it was a shark. Almost immediately, Lytton punched <br />the shark in the gills with his left hand. Beach goers helped to carry him to the parking lot and stop the bleeding. He was then airlifted to Tufts Medical Center.
