Revellers took to the streets as part of an early-morning Trinidadian festival in New York.<br /><br />Footage filmed early on Monday morning (September 3) shows people marching through the streets alongside floats and flags from various Caribbean nations.<br /><br />Some are pictured grinding on the floor while others get covered in paint.<br /><br />The Trinidadian carnival celebration of J'ouvert, which is now celebrated widely across the Caribbean, starts early in the morning and peaks around sunrise.<br /><br />This year, the festival took place under tight security after incidences of violence in the past.
