Learn how to make Sabudana Vada at home with Chef Smita Deo on Get Curried.<br /><br />The first thing that pops into our mind when we think of fasting is Sabudana Wada. It is a delicious snack that makes fasting interesting. Made by binding potato, sago, chillies and peanut powder together, this is an ideal dish to have while you fast. Do give it a try and share your feedback in the comments below.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />5 Green Chillies<br />1 inch Ginger<br />1 tsp Cumin seeds<br />1 cup Sago, soaked<br />1 cup Peanut powder, roasted <br />Salt to taste<br />2-3 tsp Sugar<br />½ cup Coriander<br />6 Potatoes, boiled & chopped<br /><br />For Chutney<br />1 cup Coconut, grated<br />1 tsp Sugar<br />Salt to taste<br />1 Green Chilli<br />Ginger<br />½ tsp Cumin seeds<br />½ cup Coriander leaves<br />A cherry sized - Tamarind<br />Juice of ½ lemon<br />Water<br /><br />Method of preparation:<br />In a mixer jar add chillies, ginger, cumin seeds and grind it coarsely.<br />In a plate add sago, chilli-ginger-cumin paste, peanut powder, salt, sugar, coriander, potatoes.<br />Mash the potatoes, mix them well and roll them into nice vadas.<br />Heat oil in a vessel, fry the vadas untill they are nice a golden brown.<br />Our Sabudana Vada is ready to eat.<br /><br />For Chutney<br />In a mixer jar add coconut, sugar, salt, green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander, tamarind, lemon juice, grind it to a nice chutney.<br />Add water, and grind well.<br />Our Chutney is ready to serve.
