<p>A California trucker said he “didn’t have a choice” but to drive through the Delta Fire on Wednesday, September 5, when the blaze ran up to Interstate 5 as he was headed north.</p><p>Amit Sekhri told Storyful the fire “suddenly picked up” and he had no opportunity to turn around “even knowing it might be dangerous.”</p><p>“I was surrounded with fire,” he said.</p><p>By Thursday morning, the fire had topped 15,000 acres, and Interstate 5 was shut down for miles as the fire burned on both sides of the highway.
