Researchers have identified a metabolic way to detect autism spectrum disorder in some children.<br />Autism is a neurological and developmental disorder that is prevalent in 1 in 59 children.<br />According to UPI, the discovery potentially paves the way for a biomarker blood test.<br />UC Davis and NeuroPointDX researchers conducted the Children's Autism Metabolome Project.<br />Their blood test was able to detect about 16.7% of children with autism spectrum disorder. <br />
