<p>New video from NASA shows Hurricane Florence on its course toward the US on Monday, September 10, as the National Weather Service upgraded the rapidly strengthening hurricane to Category 4 status</a>.</p><p>States of emergency have been issued in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia</a> and Maryland</a>.</p><p>Around 1 million people were expected to evacuate from communities along South Carolina’s entire coastline after Governor Henry McMaster issued a mandatory evacuation order on Tuesday, September 11.</p><p>Mandatory evacuation orders were also issued in parts of North Carolina and Virginia</a>.</p><p>According to NASA, this footage of Hurricane Florence was captured by astronaut Ricky Arnold on the the International Space Station at 8:10 am ET on September 10.
