<br /> Brazil’s most popular politician ended his legal battle to run for the top office in next month’s election.<br />Imprisoned former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva dropped out of the race on Tuesday.<br />Lula has been jailed on corruption charges in the southern city of Curitiba since April.<br />Party officials say Lula stepped aside to allow running mate Fernando Haddad to stand for the presidency. <br />
