Satellite Footage Shows Hurricane Florence Moving Towards North Carolina

<p>Satellite imagery published by the NASA Short-term Prediction Research and Transition (SPoRT) Center shows the eye of Hurricane Florence moving towards North Carolina on the morning of September 12.</p><p>The US National Weather Service warned</a> residents of North and South Carolina to prepare for the “life-threatening storm.” NASA reported that the maximum sustained winds were at 130 mph.</p><p>This footage, from the NOAA GOES-East satellite, shows the center of the hurricane approximately 530 miles southeast of Cape Fear.</p><p>President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency for North Carolina</a>, South Carolina, and Virginia.
