Mark Zuckerberg is fascinated with Augustus Caesar

MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA — It looks as if Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a real big man crush for ancient Roman emperor Augustus Caesar.
"You have all these good and bad and complex figures," Zuck said in a New Yorker interview. "I think Augustus is one of the most fascinating. Basically, through a really harsh approach, he established two hundred years of world peace."
According to Zuckerberg, Augustus had to make choices, "that didn't come for free, and he had to do certain things."
The Facebook king's Roman interests started in high school. He also named his second daughter August and spent his 2012 honeymoon in Rome.
The New Yorker interview suggests the Augustus mindset could be why Facebook has pursued growth at all costs.
This growth strategy also opened up Facebook to outside developers without putting proper safeguards in place to ensure user data was not misused — Cambridge Analytica.
Looks like growth at all costs actually has quite a few costs, some that Facebook may not be able to afford.
