Super Typhoon Mangkhut <br />Threatens 37 Million People The Pacific typhoon is about 280 miles <br />from the coast of the Philippines The Global Disaster Alert and Coordination <br />System (GDACS) says that Vietnam and <br />several parts of China are also likely <br />to be hit by the typhoon. With the equivalent power of a Category 5 hurricane, <br />GDACS is predicting Mangkhut will have <br />a "high humanitarian impact." The eye of the typhoon alone <br />stretches 78 miles across. Tropical climatologists are calling Mangkhut <br />the "planet's most powerful storm system <br />to have developed this year."
