The most powerful storm in nearly three decades to hammer the Carolinas states on the U.S. East Coast has killed at least five people since making landfall on Friday.<br /> Officials say Hurricane Florence, since downgraded to a tropical storm,... has knocked out power to around 80-thousand homes.<br />Weather experts also say "catastrophic flooding" has occured in parts of the Carolinas... and will continue for days.<br />1-point-7 million people in the storm's path were strongly advised to evacuate, but it's not yet clear how many people heeded that warning.<br />The White House says President Trump is planning to visit the hardest-hit areas next week. <br />
