Typhoon Mangkhut battered Hong Kong on Sunday with high winds, heavy rains and waves. <br /><br />It is the most severe storm to hit the city since records began, according to local authorities.<br /><br />This clip, which was taken at Tai Po Waterfront Park in Tai Po district, shows large waves hitting the city.<br /><br />The storm weakened overnight but was still a severe typhoon, with gusts of up to 160 miles an hour, according to local authorities.<br /><br />Trees were downed, windows shattered and hundreds of flights were cancelled.
