<p>A pine tree in the Philippines city of Baguio estimated</a> to be more than 200 years old was destroyed in a landslide on Saturday, September 15, after Typhoon Mangkhut, known locally as Ompong, made a landfall in northern Luzon.</p><p>The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said</a> an estimated 5.2 million people were within 77 miles of the projected path of Mangkhut.</p><p>More than 15,000 people from 10 provinces were evacuated on Friday, September 14, NDRRMC said.</p><p>Mangkhut, said to be the biggest storm on this planet</a> so far in 2018, was expected to hit Hong Kong and southern China in the following days.
