New England Patriots Trade for Wide Receiver Josh Gordon The Patriots have acquired the former
Pro Bowler from the Cleveland Browns for a
fifth-round draft pick. Cleveland previously announced they planned to trade the troubled WR this
past Saturday. According to ESPN, at least 8 to 10 teams then called the Browns inquiring about potentially trading
for him. Gordon's talent has been overshadowed by substance abuse that has derailed a promising career. He has been suspended by the NFL for most of the past four seasons because of multiple drug violations. The 27-year-old missed three weeks of training camp this summer to undergo counseling and treatment. Recently, Gordon said he was in a good place mentally and physically. He has not played in an NFL game since November 23, 2014.
