Business Insider sat down to talk with Olivia Boisson, a New York City Ballet corps de ballet member.<br />She talked about how ballerinas customized their pointe shoes.<br />They cost around $80-$90 a pair, and ballerinas can go through three pairs a day!<br />Each dancer sews her pointe shoes differently, to support the ankle. They also "smush" the box!<br />They also bend the part of the shoe that supports the arch, to mold it to her foot. <br />
