<br /> <p>McDonald’s workers and activists in St Louis, Missouri, rallied</a> on Tuesday, September 18, as part of a nationwide strike to protest sexual harassment in the fast-food restaurant franchise.</p><p>The protesters chanted “Hold the burgers, hold the fries, keep your hands off my thighs" and carried banners, one of which said, “#MeToo McDonald’s.”</p><p>The protests – the first multi-state strike against sexual harassment in the US – were organized by the workers’ rights group Fight for $15.</p><p>Workers also demonstrated</a> in front of McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago, with a plane flying overhead with a banner that said, “McDonald’s: Stop Sexual Harassment.”</p><p>The protests were also held</a> in eight other cities: Milwaukee, Kansas City, New Orleans, Durham, Miami, Orlando, Los Angeles and San Francisco.</p><p>Last May, sexual harassment claims were filed</a> with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of 10 women, with Fight for $15 and the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund backing the lawsuit.
