US Coast Guard Rescues Injured Sea Turtle Off Plantation Key

<p>The US Coast Guard rescued a wounded sea turtle two miles off of Plantation Key in Florida on Tuesday, September 18.</p><p>Personnel with Coast Guard Station Islamorada received a call from the Marathon Turtle Hospital reporting an injured sea turtle. The station launched a 24-foot special purpose craft-shallow water boat crew to assist the hospital.</p><p>Footage shared Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Lees shows crews pouring water on the loggerhead sea turtle, before transporting it to the Turtle Hospital.</p><p>The Turtle Hospital helps rehabilitate</a> injured sea turtles and return them to their natural habitat.
