A bizarre and nail-biting fight-to-the-death between a mongoose and a spectacled cobra in Uttar Pradesh, northern India. <br /><br />The mongoose, whose name may or may not be Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, dashes up to the reptile, lunging at it with its teeth, while the cobra stays in a defensive stance. <br /><br />The mongoose pulls the snake around, refusing to back away from the reptile, retreting and returning to attack from a different direction. <br /><br />Drivers stand at a distance and allow them to fight while they watch and record the event on their mobile phones.<br /><br />Eventually the animal gets scared off by a loud bus horn and runs away leaving the snake right in the middle of the road. <br /><br />Rickshaws, trucks, bikes and cars move around the cobra, leaving it unharmed. <br /><br />Indian mongooses are famous for fighting venomous snakes due to their thick skin and agility.
