1,000-foot-long spider webs in Greece are just a massive orgy

AITOLIKO, GREECE — The beautifully picturesque beaches of Aitoliko have been covered in a whole lot of spider loving recently. <br /><br />In a video posted to YouTube by Giannis Giannakopoulos, networks of spider webs stretching a 1,000-feet-long are shown covering shrubs and beach palms. <br />According to Newsit.gr, who asked biology expert Maria Chatzaki, the massive webs of love happen every summer. <br />According to Live Science, spiders commonly known as "stretch spiders" for their long, ovular bodies, have an affinity for the water and are great web builders. <br />The massive web networks are great for catching insects and nesting. <br />The warm temperatures and high humidity of the Greek coasts create the perfect mating conditions for the spiders.
