<p>Emergency crews rescued people from flooded neighborhoods in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday, September 22, as the Waccamaw River set a flood record and kept rising.</p><p>The river is expected to crest on Tuesday at 22 feet – more than four feet higher than the record set by Hurricane Matthew’s flood waters in 2016. On Sunday morning, the river was just below 20 feet.</p><p>Hurricane Florence made landfall on September 14 and moved slowly over the Carolinas over the next few days, filling streams and lakes to capacity and beyond.
