South Carolina Prepares to Build Flood Barrier in Georgetown

<p>The South Carolina National Guard brought in water-filled cofferdams to help keep rising floodwaters from US-17 in Georgetown on September 23. Upstream, water from the Waccamaw River is already flooding Conway and is headed down to Georgetown.</p><p>Transportation Department officials met with city emergency officials on Sunday to work out the plan for the barrier along the highway.
