Spectacular video captured a huge tidal bore several metres high, lashing the shore of the Qiantang River in China.<br /><br />In the clip, shot in Haining County in eastern Zhejiang Province today (September 26), the huge waves make their way upriver before breaking on the river shore. <br /><br />Tidal bores are caused by tides passing into narrow inlets or waterways, forming waves much higher than usual. <br /><br />The tidal bores of the Qiantang River are considered to be the largest of their kind in the world.
