Filipina misses flight to Dubai after being duped by swindler at NAIA

A Filipina passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) missed her flight bound for Dubai after being duped by a swindler who withheld her passport.<br /><br />The suspect, identified as Joseph Pascasio, reportedly introduced himself as an immigration staff at the Terminal 3 of NAIA and asked the female passenger her passport and Php500 cash in exchange of assistance from a travel agency, reported PNA.<br /><br />Later on, Pascasio asked the passenger to remit Php3,000 to a money remittance center for her passport, which she was unable to do. Due to this, the Filipina has missed her flight and reported the incident to the Airport Police Department.<br /><br />Following the report, Pascasio was was apprehended on Tuesday, September 25. In his possession was the passenger’s passport and methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in his bag.<br /><br />According to police officials, Pascasio had been arrested multiple times in the past for duping other passengers at the airport and for being a suspected member of a “saisi gang” in 2016.<br /><br />Pascasio will be charged with theft, drug possession, and usurpation, authorities said.
