The South Korean Navy will continue to discuss with Japan over the flying of a controversial imperialistic flag on a Japanese vessel that's due to take part in an international naval event in waters around Jeju Island this month. <br /> Seoul's foreign ministry also says it has communicated with Tokyo over the issue.<br />It explained Japan needs to proactively consider the public sentiment Koreans have over the Rising Sun Flag,... which is viewed as an emblem of Japan's wartime aggression and imperialism.<br />Seoul's request has so far been rejected by Japan,... based on the reasoning that ships for the country's Maritime Self-Defense Force are required by law to fly the flag. <br />
