These were the scenes in Hackney this morning (October 3) as a burst water main flooded a busy road, forcing people to abandon their homes and cars.<br /><br />The incident occurred on Lea Bridge Road near the Leyton area. The road was submerged by a burst pipe which filled the road and surrounding houses with water.<br /><br />The filmer said: "I was doing a delivery on Lower Clapton Road in East London when I went past Lea bridge road."<br /><br />Additionally, they said: "Emergency services had the situation under control but a car did get flooded."<br /><br />Thames Water and London Fire Brigade are currently on the scene fixing the pipe and diverting flood water.
