A defensive mother hen attacked a boy who tried to get too close to her chicks. <br /><br />Footage captured by Nand Kumar on September 29 shows a couple of chicks that had fallen into a pit dug in the backyard of a house in a village in Malappuram district, Kerala, India.<br /><br />As they were unable to climb up, a boy who lived nearby got down into the pit to bring them up. <br /><br />But it did not matter that the poor boy was only trying to help them. <br /><br />The stressed-out mother hen, who was keeping an anxious watch, decided that she had had enough. <br /><br />She flew down to the pit and launched an attack on the boy thinking that he was trying to harm her chicks. <br /><br />Taken aback, the terrified boy called his own mother for his rescue.
