'Almost Famous' Musical Officially Happening 'ET' recently confirmed that Cameron Crowe, the writer/director of 'Almost Famous,' is bringing the <br />cult classic to the musical stage. Tom Kitt will be in charge of the <br />music and Jeremy Herrin has <br />signed on to direct the production. The official announcement came days after Crowe took to Twitter, teasing some possible music for the venture. Though the film, released in 2000, <br />bombed at the box office, it was <br />nominated for four Academy Awards <br />and gained a large underground following. In 2017, Kate Hudson, who stars <br />in the film, talked about re-visiting <br />the movie with her son, Ryder Robinson. Kate Hudson, on 'Watch What Happens Live <br />With Andy Cohen' Don't hold your breath for Hudson to appear in a sequel though. The actress <br />said that it "would be fun. But I wouldn't <br />wanna touch that," according to 'ET.'
