Footage Shows Moment Earthquake and Mud Waves Struck Central Sulawesi Village

<br /> <p>Sections of Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi province remained in shambles on October 2, about half a week after a devastating earthquake and tsunami hit Palu and nearby districts of Donggala, Sigi and Parigi Moutong on September 28.</p><p>This chaotic footage is described as showing the moment waves of mud, – the result from soil liquefaction that happened after the magnitude 7.5 quake – struck Jono Oge, a village in Sulawesi’s Sigi regency.</p><p>Soil liquefaction</a> is a phenomenon during which loose or wet soil acts like a fluid due to intense pressure during an earthquake.
