The Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has spoken out in solidarity with the workers of food chains including McDonald's, JD Wetherspoon and TGI Fridays in Leicester Square this morning (October 4).<br /><br />The demonstrators were striking over pay, demanding at least £10 per hour. A common complaint is that their present salaries are too low, often being minimum wage or just above.
