Locals in the southern islands of Japan lost power on Friday, October 5, as Typhoon Kong-rey battered the prefectures still recovering from the devastation of Typhoon Trami less than a week ago.<br /><br />This video, shot at a beach in Okinawa, shows the violent crashing of the waves.<br /><br />Officials in one town have ordered residents to evacuate to an emergency shelter. In the Amami Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, nearly 20,000 households have no power, local media reported.<br /><br />Kong-rey is moving north from Okinawa and will near the Korean Peninsula this weekend.
