An earthquake of magnitude 5-point-9 struck off the northern coast of Haiti on Saturday afternoon local time.<br /> According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was about 19 kilometers northwest of the coastal town of Port-de-Paix.<br />A Haitian government spokesperson told AFP that at least 11 people died, at least some of them in buildings that collapsed.<br />The police chief for the coastal town said more than 100 were injured.<br />The tremor was reportedly felt in the neighboring Dominican Republic.<br />The quake was one of the strongest in Haiti since 2010 when a magnitude 7 left about 300-thousand people dead. <br />
