This incredible drone footage shows the first day of pumpkin picking at one of the UK's biggest patches in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire last Sunday (October 7).<br /><br />The thousands of pumpkins have been grown over the last 120 days and were ripe for picking at Maxley's Farm after a bountiful harvest.<br /><br />Ripe pumpkins ready to pick are round, with smooth, slightly ribbed skin, and deep yellow to orange colouration. <br /><br />Pumpkins, which are thought to have originated in North America, are often carved as jack-o'-lanterns for decoration around Halloween.
