Beaches along the Florida Panhandle saw churning waves and high tides on Monday, October 8, as Hurricane Michael tracked towards the Gulf.<br /><br />Forecast to make landfall on Wednesday, Michael was upgraded from a tropical storm to a hurricane earlier in the day.<br /><br />This video, filmed at Pensacola Beach at around 12 pm, shows the rocky waves.<br /><br />A state of emergency has been declared for 26 counties, with mandatory evacuations ordered in three.<br /><br />Authorities predict that it will be the area's strongest hurricane in at least 13 years.
