Facebook to Eventually Rely on Instagram for Ad Revenue Growth Facebook’s revenue growth is<br />starting to slow down. According to some projections, Facebook will soon rely<br />on Instagram to drive majority of the<br />company’s ad revenue. The photo-sharing app now has more than<br />1 billion users and will generate up to<br />$9 billion in revenue in 2018. During Q3 Instagram pulled in about 15% of the company’s advertising revenue, and is expected to generate up to 70% by 2020. The social giant’s $1 billion acquisition of Instagram was one of the biggest in the internet era. Instagram has grown into one of the most important parts of Facebook’s future.
