A biker travelling through the hills of South Wales filmed the "shocking" amount of rubbish and refuse left strew across the countryside.<br /><br />The motorcyclist was travelling through the fields near Merthyr Tydfil when he decided to film the scene on October 11.<br /><br />Piles of domestic waste, industrial waste, wood and mattresses pockmark the otherwise beautiful landscape. <br /><br />"Apparently all of the mountains around here are like this," the filmer says.<br /><br />In 2016-2017, more than 38,500 incidents of fly-tipping – the illegal and improper dumping of waste – were recorded in Wales. <br /><br />An on-the-spot fine of up to £400 can be issued for fly-tipping.
